today i'm inspired by... topshop boutique s/s'12

Pictures / Topshop.com

If I won the lottery (fairly impossible since I don't play, but go with me here), one of the first things I'd do would be to buy the whole of the Topshop Boutique range (and a Chanel bag, and everything by Acne and Isabel Marant... I could go on). Anyway, the point is that the Boutique line has always been my absolute favourite part of Topshop. I can remember going into the Oxford Circus store when I was probably about 16 and falling head-over-heels in love with a beautiful navy Boutique dress with a structured skirt and wishing so much that I could afford to buy it; I still remember exactly what it looked like. Since then I've invested in many items from the Boutique range and I absolutely love all of them; my collection of cashmere-mix camis and my favourite navy fisherman jumper spring immediately to mind. It's Topshop's least trend-led and therefore most timeless line, focusing on the classic pieces which don't ever date. As I get older I tend to focus more and more on investing in basics that will really last: that butter-soft leather jacket which you can always throw on; a super-soft chunky knit for cool evenings; paper-thin tanks and tees to team with jeans. And this is exactly what Boutique specialises in. I'm sure I'm preaching to the converted, but just in case you're not already a fan, surely this sensational photo shoot will show you exactly what I mean. Some of the above pieces aren't yet available, but many are already yours for the taking, so click here to get shopping.
